West
Hollywood is well known as a progressive little city
with a fierce sense of community and political spirit.
It lies between Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and is
home to many of L.A.'s young professionals. West Hollywood
has two major and very different shopping districts.
The Sunset Strip and Sunset Plaza is the heart of Los
Angeles' world famous night life. It also contains many
fine boutiques and exclusive restaurants and hotels.
Melrose Avenue is one of the hippest shopping streets
anywhere.
Containing
many offbeat shops and great eating establishments, one can
spend an afternoon there completely entertained by the fine
people watching to be found.
West
Hollywood is home to the Pacific Design Center, also known
as the Blue Whale, a gigantic blue glass building which is
the center of the wholesale interior design industry. Other
features of this exciting little city are its abundance of
art galleries, restaurants, shops and live theaters.
Housing in West Hollywood
consists mainly of multi-family condominiums and apartment
buildings, mixed in with a number of smaller, yet impeccably
appointed homes. Hillside homes are often larger and have
panoramic city views.
